Jade Blair
Hi, I'm Jade, and I'm a freelance creative.
Yes, I also know that title often suggests a snooty layabout, but in my case it’s real. I have a proven track record as a producer, filmmaker, writer and researcher. From award-winning films to e-learning modules, writing essays to crafting copy, I love helping make “content” that resonates with any audience.
Filmmaking
Starting in 2015, my career grew to include filmmaking - notably producing, writing and directing. From helping produce the award winning doc After the Last River (Dir. Victoria Lean) to co-creating the web series dramedy Miss Misery, I’ve collaborated on multiple critically acclaimed, creatively innovative projects.

The through line in my work is a dedication to nuance and great storytelling.
As a non–fiction long form journalist and essayist, it was my goal to digest complex and emotionally complicated issues into captivating stories.
As a travel guide writer, shopping and design enthusiast I want to introduce readers to the small details that make piece, place or object special.
And as a cultural writer and critic, I love using my cultural studies background to deep dive into everything from internet culture, long-running procedurals or the latest tiktok trend.

Don’t want to take my word for it?
You don’t have to.
I recently hired Jade to work as writer to create the pilot and bible for a 30 minute comedy. She came highly recommended and exceeded my expectations. She is extremely funny, a great researcher, and worked harder than anyone else on the project. Her commitment to the characters and the story were evident as she always showed up with more than was asked for during each day in the writing room. I can’t recommend her enough.

As a lead producer at Sandbox Inc., I worked with Jade on many creative projects over the years and was consistently impressed by her strong writing skills, her fresh creativity, and her deeply collaborative mindset. Throughout our work together, Jade proved to be a reliable, motivated, and hard-working collaborator, who always remained flexible and open to direction. I believe her past experience as a filmmaker, producer, and web series co-creator gives her a unique sense of how to craft emotive—and often poetic—language in order to inspire or enhance visuals, and to connect with audiences on a deeper level. I would recommend her not only as a professional writer and collaborator, but as a true artist in her own right.
